DJ Akademiks – The Best Jamaican American Media Personality Online
DJ Akademiks, born Livingston Allen, is a popular entertainment personality covering hip hop culture and media, as well as general entertainment. He was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, and moved to the United States in 2001. He did experience some difficulty adjusting to New York culture though, but has since made it his cherished home.
After graduating from high school, he went on to study at Rutgers University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in something that couldn’t be further away from music if you tried, biomathematics. While studying, he turned his passion for music production, into DJing.
It was while attending University that he started his own website and youtube. The website, called Late Nite Creep is a portal for hip hop and entertainment news, which compliments his youtube channels that deal with his commentary over news reports from the hip hop and entertainment world. He has managed to amass over 1.3 million subscribers, with more than 700 million views.
His rap persona is Lil Ak, and he has already released a mixtape in 2018, to much fanfare, called Clout Chaser. You might want to check it out on spotify. It’s only 4 tracks, but it gives you a taste of what is to come from this popular and outspoken entertainer.
